I wish people who're going walkabout would explain why. Otherwise, we're left thinking "is it something we said?"

But here now starts another Big Huge Talossan Break for me. I do not wish to serve in Cabinet this term, nor will you all be seeing me on Witt for a good while. I resign all Talossan governmental posts immediately, save that of citizenship.
I've been threatening the Big Huge Talossan Break for a long time now, and while I will be away for who-knows-how-long, take heart. A part of my heart dwells always on the East Side, and I drive in spirit across the Waters Street bridge into our glorious land, and always will. Bis spaeter... GV/Jeff |

I think our provinces are some kind of a derivative fallout - as Talossa was muchly shaped after the design of the US of A, in spite of the "secessionst" strain of yore and a monarch at the helm, there had to be provinces and senators as elected representatives of the provinces. The Republic, in the founding phase, shied away from ditching this heritage, but failed to breathe life into it. When we wrote the new Constitution, again we failed to get rid of the provinces, while their importance in the political mechanics of the Republic got even more reduced. Where to go from here, I wonder. Cézembre, for instance, might have been a special place because of its non-Anglophone multilingual population, but I think in the mean time the GSP is hosting a non-Anglophone multilingual minority, too. It would be fine, if provinces could attract immigrants better than any other Talossan institution or group. Yet I can't remember that we ever had an immigrant who joined us because of the attraction of one of our provinces. In our short past, parties and mysterious political philosophies (the MRP, on both counts) had this particular magnetism, but any of the provinces? Not yet. The elected Senats did not come in until the Organic Law of 1997. In the original Organic Law of 1985, there was meant to be an appointed Senats but this was soon abolished and unicameralism was affirmed in the 1988 Constitution. The Senats was restored when Talossa came online, but only since 1997 did Talossa have an effective bicameral system. |

Est. Tuischac'h, I support an amended version of Eovart's bill. That is to say, Eovart's bill without the word 'yearly'.

I'd like to smoke a mild cigarillo or a cigar occasionally. But I'm afraid that thus I might instantly get hooked on tobacco again, so I'm resisting the temptation.
