Dear citizens, since the Chamber has kindly confirmed my appointment as SoS, it is now my legal duty to open nominations for the Eleventh Chamber of Deputies of the Talossan Republic.
I am tired and stressed and can't be bothered filling out the legalese, but you guys know the drill: if you and/or any of your friends want to be a legislator of our Republic for the next six months, please give me your name(s), party affiliation (default is "Independent"), and a fifty-word statement of programme. We'll hold nominations open for a week.
It would be handy if prospective Abel's immigration referendum were to be held at the same time. Just sayin'.

The Immigration Minister should have explained it to you. Now that you've submitted your essay, all you need to do is formally request (on the Immigration forum or by email) that a vote be held on your citizenship. The prospective controls the pace of the immigration process in this Republic - we remember citizens being jerked around for ages by unfriendly government officials in the old days. So you decide when we've had enough chance to get to know you and when you want a yes/no.

Ahh, that makes sense. Well it seems logical to wait until the next formal vote so let's just formalize that now. In the meantime, I'm wondering how to submit my documentation. It doesn't look like I can transmit a file using the board's resources so I will send it to you and Ian over Facebook.

I have received enough nominations for the election to go ahead. However, the word "barely" should be inserted into that sentence somewhere. Therefore - and unless the Seneschál disapproves - I will hold nominations over for 24 more hours from now, just in case any other citizen of ár Repúblicâ amadâ has a sudden rush of patriotism. Hint hint.
